Scott Makuakane, Esq.

About Me

Scott Makuakane is a lawyer whose practice emphasizes estate planning, estate administration, asset protection planning, special needs planning, Medicaid planning, wills, probate, guardianships, conservatorships, and trust law. He also handles contested matters and serves as a mediator. He is a graduate of Duke University (cum laude) and the University of Hawaii School of Law. His law firm, Est8Planning Counsel LLLC, serves clients statewide. Mr. Makuakane is a Partner Member of the national ElderCare Matters Alliance, past-chair of the Probate & Estate Planning Section, the Elder Law Section, and the Estate & Gift Tax Committee of the Hawaii State Bar Association. He is also past president of the Christian Legal Society of Hawaii, past president of the Financial Planning Association of Hawaii, and past President of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation of the Rotary Club of Honolulu. Scott has been awarded the highest rating (AV) given by the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory (which indicates very high to preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards as established by confidential opinions from members of the Bar).
