Question: Help! I hired an independent home care provider several months ago and now I am literally fearing for my safety. Many of my treasured items from my home have been stolen has been stolen from my purse as well. The care that I was supposed to be given is almost non-existent and I dare not complain. How do I go about getting rid of this person without fearing that she will harm me afterwards? Whom should I contact?

Answer:  You should contact the local authorities immediately, report the theft, and ensure they understand that you’re fearful for your safety. In addition, I would terminate the services of your current caregiver and contact a local licensed home health agency.
