Overview
This policy explains how ElderCareMatters.com collects, uses, and protects your information. It applies to two groups: visitors who use our directory to find care, and professionals and businesses listed in our directory. Read the section that applies to you, or both if you fall into both groups.
Information We Collect
From visitors. When you contact us or submit an inquiry through our directory, we collect your name, email, phone number, state, city, and any message you write. We also note how you prefer to be contacted (email, phone, or text).
From members and advertisers. We collect the business and contact information you provide to build and display your listing.
From all site visitors. We automatically collect some technical data through cookies and similar tools, including pages viewed, browser type, and general location. See Cookies and Tracking below.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your inquiry and connect you with care professionals
- Build and maintain a member’s business listing
- Track site performance and usage through statistical analysis
- Send you information about ElderCareMatters.com
- Improve our directory and services
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing Your Information With Professionals
When you submit an inquiry through our contact or provider request forms, we match you with care professionals who may be a good fit for your request, typically up to ten within and outside the ElderCareMatters network. In some cases, more than ten professionals who match your specific needs may receive your request. Not every professional we share your information with will reach out; it depends on their interest and availability. Those who do will contact you using the method you selected (email, phone, or text/SMS).
You control this sharing at the point of submission. If you’d rather work with one provider directly instead of receiving multiple responses, use the specific provider listings in our directory instead of the general contact form.
Confidentiality
Outside of the sharing described above, advertisers, partners, and other third parties do not have access to your personal or confidential information without your prior consent.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use our site and to show relevant ads. This includes analytics tools like Google Analytics, which track pages viewed and time on site, and advertising tools like Google Ads and Meta Pixel, which may track your activity across other websites to serve targeted ads.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Turning off cookies may limit some site features.
Data Retention and Your Choices
We keep your information as long as needed to provide our services, maintain your listing, or meet legal requirements.
You can ask us to:
- Update or correct your information
- Delete your information from our records
- Stop future contact from us
To make any of these requests, contact us using the information below.
Sensitive Information
We recommend you avoid sharing sensitive personal details in your messages to us, including information about your health, family status, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or political views. If you choose to share this information, we handle it with the same care as any other personal data, but we don’t ask for it and don’t need it to help you find care.
Children’s Privacy
Our site is meant for adults seeking or offering elder care services. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll remove it.
Contact Us
